World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrade allows players to raise the item level of equippable weapons and armor. This boosts the stats of the item and sometimes adds buffs or rerolls on an attach.
It is important to note that while you can upgrade magic and other common equipment, it is generally not worth the cost. Rare and exclusive gear will quickly outclass the standard gear and upgraded magic.
Cost
The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level as well as the type of upgrade selected. Upgrades to weapons are usually cheaper than upgrades for armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required to upgrade an item increases when the item is upgraded to the next level.
A newly upgraded item will also have improved stats, which could boost its performance in many ways. This can include increasing its attack power or critical strike chance. Additionally an upgraded item could be able to offer additional buffs for its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used to boost the overall strength of a unit or individual unit, and could significantly impact the gameplay.
